There is a big problem in Alachua County where our AA Children Ages 10 - 17 are ending up in handcuffs and some behind bars. There is a clearly defined problem that is not being addressed.

Welcome to the DRS blog. I would like to know your thoughts on the information you are about to read. Please add a comment and share this blog.
In 2017, There were 1,021 juvenile arrests (ages 10-17). 79.3% of those arrests made were African American Juveniles. This means that 809 AA Juveniles will have a criminal record before exiting high school, if they are allowed to return.
There is much hype about what to do and how they are going to do. Yet, we do not see a change in these stats.
A Mentorship Program that works
It is time for change. It is time for DRS mentoring. DRS mentoring is a new concept to mentoring by studying and implementing Eco systemic Psychology into a peer to peer based mentoring program. By creating the positive example in influential children, we can capture an entire generation by working with those who can empower others, either positively or negatively.
Remember, If you are not apart of the solution, you are apart of the problem. Fix it.
Love,
R.D.J.
