Do we need to eliminate the "at-risk" label?

What is "at-risk"? Why do we consider the children who are in trouble or have troubling behavior "at-risk"? It seems that once you have been labeled with this very negative title, you may be categorized as something that you may not be. I believe that this label eliminates a child from receiving the appropriate level of help needed to change them, because we have programs for "at-risk" children. However, did anyone realized that being "at-risk" behavior is an undefined way of explaining what is happening to a child. DRS mentoring will change the meaning of "at-risk" to reach every child in their needs. Our "at-risk" children are those who have any factors that may prevent their successful attempt to achieve future visions and goals. Any child without a promising future is "at-risk" to DRS mentoring.
